A while back I posted about ‘The Magic Charger’ made by Mobee. Back then I hadn’t yet bought it, but was thinking about it. Well, I have last month, and it’s great! No more battery trouble! And it charges from my keyboards USB port.
A small but annoying little bug has shown it’s face in Apple iWork’s Pages. After using Pages for a little while, right-clicking just stops working. I am using a Magic Mouse with my MacBook Pro, and have only recently been bugged by this problem. Before I would just have to restart Pages, and that would fix the problem, for a little while again. The second time it happened today, I decided to check if there were any solutions for it.
The quick fix (although not permanent) was to scroll (two fingers) on the trackpad (whether on your MacBook Pro, or Trackpad). That would enable right clicking right away. So whenever right-clicking becomes disabled again, just scrolling on my trackpad ‘fixes’ it, temporarily anyways… It at least makes it bearable.
I haven’t quite figured out where the problem lies, but it could be because of third party software I use for my Magic Mouse and Trackpad: BetterTouchTool; although I have no idea why. Have been using BTT for as long as I have had a Magic Mouse, and loving it. If I find out more I will update.
I have been using the Apple Magic mouse now for about a year, and very happy with it. The only thing about a wireless mouse the fact that you need to keep extra batteries handy, for when the batteries you are using decide they have had enough.. Most times that always went well, except for the the few times I just forgot…. and the magic mouse lost most of it’s magic….
This morning though, I have found a cool solution that seems to solve that problem (at least, from reading about it, as I have yet to order and try it): The Magic Charger, by Mobee Technology, and costs $49.90.
In order to use this device, it’s required to exchange the batteries, for a battery pack that works with the charger. This comes with the base station, as far as I could tell (Spare battery packs are available for $29.90). See video below, to take a look.
The charging station is only 9 mm (or 0.35 in) thin, and plugs into any USB port, which makes it easy for travel. I am excited, as this way I will never (although, never say never..!) be caught with a dead Magic Mouse. Now all I need to do is order it.
