About me

Peter fotoI have been working in the structural engineering industry (industrial sector) for a number of years and have a wonderful family! I love to read! It is my favorite pastime. I love to read history, but certainly not limiting myself to just that.

Professionally I work with AutoCAD, Tekla, Bentley Autoplant (ProStructures), AutoCAD Plant 3D (civil & structural engineering) and I write some post on it from time to time, whenever I run into annoyances or just come across handy information, shortcuts, etc. This I do to be of help to anyone running into things as I do from time to time. Same way I have found useful information on other blogs and forums that helped me out!

Of course, as this is my personal blog, it isn’t limited to just CAD, and I will share things I find useful, enlightening, amusing, nuts, helpful, entertaining and whatever else as I go through life!

Have been using Autocad for Mac 2010 for a while. Looks like 2012 is a major improvement from what you say. The single biggest problem I have is that cut and pasting to/from the clipboard, whether within drawings or between drawings, simply does not work. The system either ignores the command, freezes, or crashes. This is regardless of the number of layers, filters, or anything else. Has that been fixed?

I assume you mean AutoCad for Mac 2011, as that is the first official release for the Mac in about 20 years. To answer your question: Yes, the copy/paste problem is not present in AC for Mac 2012.

I am having problems running acad 2012 on mac pro. I cannot get the mouse to move accurately. It wants to be very slow in response and very unstable in performance. It runs well in vmware but the mac version is slow.
Any idea of a setting to fix?

    Hi,
I’m an architect in the UK.
I urgently need to convert a drawing in imperial scale (drawn in Canada)- into a metric scale drawing.
    Can you please assist?
    Regards,
    Gino
