Pretty much all of the work I do in AutoCAD (which I use every day) is done using the metric system. I do all my drafting in millimeters (mm). This is the norm for a large part of the world. Not long ago though I had the upportunity to work on a building which will be build in the US, hence I needed to get familiar with the imperial measurements and scales. This took a little bit of time to figure out, but worked out in the end. The most annoying thing I came across was figuring out the scales and paper sizes.
Today I found something online that I wish I would have found earlier: Drawing scales tables.
Drawing scales: Imperial
Drawing scales: Metric
Useful information for people (like myself) who aren’t accustomed to either the metric of imperial drawing scales.
